“Les semaines de l’hexagone” (The Hexagon Weeks) is a 15-day event organized by “Le Cercle de Stratégie”, managed by Xavier Jacus. It has generally taken place at the end of July every year for over 40 years, always in eastern France (this year between Metz and St. Mihiel, in the Meuse department).
Around thirty players, not always the same, come and go, take turns playing either well-known games (e.g., Dune, Terraforming Mars), or older ones (e.g., Admiralty), or various wargames, or prototypes that will be released later.
It was in this context that Avalon Digital went there for a week to test several prototypes of games that will soon be released (e.g. Invasions – Corsica). Huge success, well-liked products, and, most importantly, dozens of comments and suggestions for improving the products: an inexhaustible goldmine from seasoned players… And the opportunity to see friends I’d lost touch with for over 30 years.
Will definitely be back, for the 2026 edition.
Here are some photos from the event.
